VMAX Unleashes 50 MPH E-Scooter Beast: Swiss Micro-Mobility Gets Serious (and Scary)!

TL;DR: Swiss brand VMAX is dropping three new e-scooters, including the VX6, a 50 mph "super-scooter" that recharges in just 1.8 hours. From ultra-light carbon fiber to full suspension, VMAX is shaking up the micromobility game with speed, torque, and surprising refinement.

Meta: Swiss brand VMAX introduces three new e-scooters, including a 50 mph performance model and a lightweight carbon fiber hill-climber.

Alright, folks, buckle up your helmets, because the Swiss are at it again! And this time, it's not just about chocolate and watches. VMAX, a name you might know in the e-scooter game, just came out of CES 2026 swinging, unveiling three new electric scooters that are gonna make you double-take. We're talking everything from an ultra-light commuter to a full-on, "why does this thing go 50 miles per hour?!" beast. And unlike some of those CES announcements that feel like vaporware, these models are built for real riders with real needs. They're making moves, baby!

The Need for Speed (and Lightness)

Let’s jump right to the headline-grabber: the new VX6. This ain't your kid's scooter. This is VMAX's first foray into the "super-scooter" category, packing dual 60V motors that crank out a claimed 6,000 watts of peak power. That's enough to hit a firmware-limited top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h) and climb grades steeper than some politicians' promises – 50% inclines! Now, that kind of performance puts it up there with the Apollo Phantom and Inmotion Jet, but VMAX is trying to stand out with usability. They say the massive 1,890 Wh battery can recharge in a blistering 1.8 hours. That's faster than I can get through a stand-up set!

Then there's the VX8, which is almost the opposite. If the VX6 is all about excess, the VX8 is about being light as a feather – just 34.2 lbs (15.5 kg), thanks to an all-carbon-fiber chassis. But don't let the light weight fool you; it’s got a 1,400-watt peak planetary gear-drive motor for serious hill-climbing torque, tackling 38% inclines. It keeps a sensible 19 mph (30 km/h) top speed, so you won't be breaking any land speed records, but you'll get up that hill without breaking a sweat. And for the commuters who want comfort without the premium price tag, the VX2 Lite adds real suspension, a 25 mph (40 km/h) top speed, and a claimed 56-mile (90 km) range, all for under a grand. Now that’s a deal!

Built for the Ride

Stopping power on the VX6 comes from dual 140 mm hydraulic disc brakes, paired with adjustable hydraulic suspension. It rolls on 11-inch self-sealing tubeless tires – which, in the scooter world, are considered huge. The VX8 gets a large color TFT display that adjusts brightness automatically and integrated turn signals for safety. The VX2 Lite boasts low maintenance with tubeless tires and a long-wearing front drum brake. VMAX is covering all the bases, showing that they're serious about taking micromobility to the next level, whether you're a speed demon or just trying to get across town with ease.

What’s Next

With pre-orders open and deliveries expected between Q1 and Q2 2026, the real test will be how these diverse models perform in the hands of everyday riders. VMAX's strategy of pushing the limits on speed, weight, and affordability simultaneously could reshape expectations for e-scooters and attract a wider range of customers who might otherwise gravitate toward other modes of electric transport.

Fifty miles an hour on a scooter? That's not a commute, that's an audition for a superhero movie! Just try not to get pulled over. You hear me?
